and traffic in just a minute. first i want to tell you about fbi probe into the life of the man suspected of that shooting rampage in chattanooga, tennessee that took the lives of four marines. >> reporter peter dussey has more. peter. >> reporter: brian and pam, mohammed abdul seize -- abdulazeez went and shot up a strip mall before driving to a naval office support system before opening fire on four marines killing them before local police killed him. >> we are checking every possible place he could reside or could have resided. visited where he shopped, where he went to school. who his friends were. >> reporter: one of the first clues into this alleged murders

up around the bay. one is 880 near high street and 29th. also looking at the commute as you drive to the bay bridge toll plazas, it is light so you don't have to worry about too much here. getting into san francisco it will take a total of 10-15 minutes. we mentioned the other bridges. let's look at the dumbarton bridge. the road sensors are showing us a nice peckture of green red sensors. 4:35, let's go back to the desk. a man in richmond is accused of pretending to be a doctor. investigators say he scammed one woman out of thousands of dollars. ktvu fox 2 reporter christien kafton is live in richmond with what else the man is accused of doing. >> reporter: investigators picked up that suspect here. they are looking into the possibility that there is going to be from -- investigators

arrested 59-year-old vincent gamil. he scammed one cancer patient out of thousands of dollars. he came to her office where he gave her zip lock baggies with fake medicine. the baggies contained expired medicines, etchty capsule -- empty capsules, and even a baggy of dirt all with instructions on how to use them. investigators arrested georgia mill with practicing without a license. according to police, gamil offered his services online so there is a possibility of being more victims out there. again this is one office on richmond parkway and looking on the internet there was a listing on solano avenue in berkeley as well. these are issues investigators will be following up on.

>> thank you. police in the east bay busted what they say was the largest hash oil labs in the state. but this is video from wednesday's raid at a home on prom nod drive. five people were arrested. almost the entire home was used to produce hash oil or marijuana.

that investigation into this month's deadly shooting on san francisco's pier 14 led to an arrest in a separate animal cruelty case. divers looking for evidence in the kate steinle case discovered a dead cat in the water. police arrested 34-year-old adrian dew mont. he pled not guilty to animal cruelty charges hen will return to court later this month. a >> that car knocked one woman down yesterday but she was not seriously hurt. the police chased the driver several miles and gave up the pursuit because of the danger.

the woman was marching with a group of activists. protestors say the land should be used as farmland. >> if it takes getting run over to save the gill track from development, i'm happy to throw myself in front of a car. >> there is lots of land they can occupy and grow vegetables on they would be lucky enough to do that. but they never persuaded anybody in albany. following the confederate flag controversy in south carolina l is a renewed call to rename the city of fort bragg. fort bragg is a scenic coastal community with a population of 7200 people. the california legislative black caucus sent a let every

to the city requesting a name change. the name comes from a military advisor in the confederate states of america. opponents say a name change would be costly and suggest places honoring george washington and thomas jeffer sop should be changed as well because they were slave owners. the state water board says inspectors observed the district pumps. pumping the water from the delta's old river in may. officials say the district had received a notice earlier in the month saying it did not have the right to use the water. the state water board says the district could face fines up to $10,000 a day if it doesn't comply with the order to stop pumping. water district in novato is is offering people free

oakland 880 that is is looking very good northbound and southbound on the freeway here. there is road work from high street to about 29th. they have to narrow the freeway. if you look at the top left of your screen, you can see a couple brake lights scattered there. they should be done with that at 5:00 but we will keep an eye on it. and this morning's commute literal traffic jams. not the songs. this is a look at 880 southbound. you can see the road sensors are all green which the freeways at the speed limit. let's go to steve in the weather center. thank you, sir. a lot of low clouds around. getsing a little boost from a system coming down from the north. that is picking up this fog bank. still some inland temps. a few more 80s compared to the last couple of days. low clouds. no drizzle yet. if you have some, you can always let us know.

the low cloud deck being helped along. right there. that is it. that is it. that is enough to do it. you can see the low clouds. i'm standing in front of most of it but it's there. 50s and 60s on the temps. they really haven't changed much. bodega bay holding steady at 55 degrees. 60s until you hit about santa monica and then it goes 68 degrees. the really warm is down south or to the west. same on the temps. 50s and 60s here. 59 santa rosa. half-moon bay. 58 san rafael. 60 for fairfield. 61 for san jose. west, southwest 24. west at concord. west at napa. a little southeast breeze in san jose. bringing up that smell of garlic again from santa clara valley. 60s through the interior. 59 monterey which is one cooler than ukiah. low clouds all keep the coast in the 60s. the moistures from the remains of hurricane. some of that is already moving

north. 80 miles an hour. decreasing rapidly as it moves north out of that 80-degree water. more towards the upper 70s and cooler water. some of that cloud cover looks like it will make it for us sunday into monday. 80s and 90s for some. 60s and 70s for others. temperatures slightly above for some. breezy on saturday. sierra nevada we will deal with it over the weekend. we have learned one of the recent fires on the bay bridge may not have been caused by road flairs as originally thought. why investigators are still looking at and what cal tran has stopped doing in the meantime. >> san francisco named as one of the worst cities to drive in. the reason they say why the

jose didn't do so well either. they ranked number 85 and 86th on the list. marijuana advocacy group has announced plans for a ballot initiative to make california the fifth state to legalize marijuana. reform ca plans to file its initiative with the state attorney general's office in the next few week. a few other proposed initiatives with the same goal have already been filed with the state's attorney general's office. people in one new york neighborhood are being warned not to kiss chickens. a few families have adopted hens as pets. one of the problems with it is that changens naturally have salmonella. they don't get sick from it but humans do. the cdc has put out a warning to ask chicken owners not to snuggle or kiss their birds for fear of contracting their

good morning. >> good morning. >> friday, july 17th i'm pam cook. >> pam cook day. good morning, i'm dave clark. let's check weather and traffic. steve, how does it look? >> it looks pretty good on a friday. we have fog, low clouds out there. a little cooler today. looks like a system taking a dip near the oregon border will help enhance that fog bank. the breeze has picked up slightly. we have quiet conditions here. bigger fog bank though. water temps still 50s and 60s. no extreme one way or another. they haven't changed much. there is plenty of low clouds to go around. the system to the north getting a view of that. 50s and 60s even on the ocean temps and current temps west 22. west at concord. west at napa. the on shore breeze is there. 40s up in the mountains. afternoon thunderstorms that will probably pop up again in the sierra. today for us the fog retreats but then the moisture holding on
